Richard Meiklejohn

Richard is an Innovation Leader, currently based at UMass Lowell M2D2, where he plays a pivotal role in helping early-stage life sciences ventures form and accelerate their commercialization pathway. Managing a global accelerator program, he works with a diverse range of startups to support fundraising and technical development.
Richard has designed and led innovative program partnerships with large corporates & federal organizations including; BARDA, Boston Scientific, Economic Development Administration (EDA), Hologic, Johnson & Johnson, National Institute of Health (NIH), and Point32Health.
Over the past two years, he has helped startups build thousands of strategic relationships, raise more than $60M in venture financing, and mentored companies on how to navigate their GTM strategy. He is regularly recruited to provide advice on the innovation ecosystem, translating research, and raising venture finance.
Richard shares his expertise through events, webinars, and workshops, as well as reviewing grant and investment opportunities. He is a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship and can be found promoting startups as a co-host on the Medtech Impact Podcast.
