Chris is a university commercialisation consultant with a background in life science start-ups, SMEs and industry.

Part of the founding team of a microbiome therapeutic company addressing antibiotic resistant infections which raised over £1.5M in venture financing and sold products into the NHS, he managed internal research and development and intellectual property identification. Following this, he worked across EMEA with ThermoFisher as part of their cell and gene therapy portfolio as a field specialist, before studying business and entrepreneurship at Babson College Massachusetts.

As a commercialisation consultant, Chris has worked on multiple diagnostic ventures in fish health, ovarian cancer and microbiome diversity, supported multiple spin-outs with further fundraising including equity financing, Innovate UK and Scottish Enterprise grant support, and licensing of IP to established commercial businesses. He has previously supported successful ventures in talent accelerator programmes and sits on the board of Blossom Genetics as a representative of a dedicated life science venture fund.
